JOB DESCRIPTION: YOUTH PASTOR
OVERALL SUMMARY: The Youth Pastor serves as the primary leader for all middle and high school students at Lafayette Christian Church. He/she leads the youth ministry program with a focus on spiritual, emotional, and social well-being, while developing a relationship with Christ and a strong sense of community.
HOURS: Part Time
SALARY: $12,000, yearly
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a program to provide opportunities for spiritual, physical, and social growth for each youth member.
Have an awareness of current youth development and culture.
Integration of youth in regular church ministry.
Be involved with church services and activities.
Provide (by example) leadership training for the youth leaders.
Provide frequent communication, encouragement and evaluation of youth program.
Administrative:
Maintain a well-planned, carefully balanced program throughout the year coordinated with the church calendar of events.
Assure responsibilities for all events are delegated and understood by church leaders, parents, and youth.
Provide the staff, parents, and youth with timely information.
Attend leadership meetings and provide regular updates to church leadership.
Report directly to lead minister.
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED:
Growth – measured by teens actively attending, meeting Christ, and taking steps toward spiritual engagement with a goal of increasing participants.
Engagement with church community – teens become active in the community through creativity, innovation, and ministry.
Finance – establish a budget and manage expenses with monthly reports to church leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong spiritual commitment to God.
Possess a servant’s heart and a willingness to put others before themselves. Proven leadership skills.
Self-starter, able to work without direction and a motivator to others. Organized and able to focus on various projects at one time. Works effectively in teams.
Displays a positive, Godly attitude in all things -- the attitude of the Youth Pastor sets the tone for the entire Youth Ministry.
Good communicator with ability to speak at student meetings and other events.

PIANIST • PART TIME
JOB DESCRIPTION: PIANIST
OVERALL SUMMARY: The church pianist is responsible for providing musical support during worship services and performing various musical selections to enhance the church's worship experience. This role is vital to enhancing the worship experience within the church community, requiring both musical talent and a collaborative spirit.
HOURS: Part Time
SALARY: $75.00 weekly
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The church pianist performs a prelude and postlude, music for congregational hymns usually found in the Chalice Hymnal, and incidental music for the communion portion of the service.
Arrive at services and performances on time and prepared to play.
Report directly to the minister.
Play for weddings and funerals, as requested (and upon availability), being permitted to receive additional compensation from the parties involved.
Assist in finding a substitute for Sundays when not available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Piano and Music Skills: Proficiency in playing the piano is essential. This includes reading music and playing various pieces and hymns.
Religious Knowledge: Familiarity with hymns, liturgical music, and other music used in religious services is beneficial.
Experience: Previous experience in church or performing music can be advantageous.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate well and in a friendly manner with the church leadership and members of the congregation.
